I am thrilled to be the visual arts teacher at Somerset Academy Stephanie! This is my tenth year teaching art and my fourth year teaching art within the Somerset Academy family.
I am originally from the East Coast and grew up in Pennsylvania. I moved to Las Vegas from Providence, Rhode Island, where I resided for 10 years. I attended Rhode Island College in Providence and graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelor of Science in Art Education (K-12) with a concentration in printmaking. I have professional experience teaching art at all stages of child development, including Pre-K, Elementary, and Secondary levels in diverse communities with students of varying learning capabilities, styles, and needs. I also have extensive experience developing and implementing a wide variety of art curricula, including drawing, painting, printmaking, graphic design, photography, and ceramics.
I am passionate about art and design of all kinds. Outside of school, I love traveling as much as possible, exploring and hiking, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to be a part of the creative experiences and artistic growth of the awesome students at Somerset. I believe in every child’s ability to learn, develop, communicate, and express him or herself. My goal as an art educator is to inspire my students to believe in themselves, to realize goals that they never knew possible, and to find joy in the creation of art.
"Art has the role in education of helping children become more themselves instead of more like everyone else."
